This question has had to have crossed the mind of every normal person alive: Why are things the way they are, and to what end?
This can be broken down, while still being vague, to: What is reality, consciousness, and what is our place in it?
Nobody likes to just let a question sit there unanswered, but where do you go to start looking for the answer? Worse yet, what if there was no explanation at all? Impossible.
Humanity's most pressing endeavor to understand questions such as this, are in the form of science. Through experimentation and replication, and omitting subjectivity from as much of it as possible, we take comfort in science being our only, agreed upon truth to life. But is it enough to just think of ourselves as very clever hunks of meat (is what makes you YOU, explainable with chemical reactions and social molding), and, what of our thoughts on death?

Turning to science is logical to find an answer. You won't get anything out of religion. To me, that's just a cop out if people say that everything happens for a reason. Only God knows or even 'if you don't accept Jesus Christ as your savior-- you will burn in hell for eternity.'
Science > Religion.
Anyway.
Death. I don't know. You don't know. Nobody knows. I -believe- there is some form of reincarnation as we discussed.
Where was religion mentioned? It waaaaasn't! Also, plenty of Wiki's articles are censored and disputed over, and there are a good number of people out there that claim they've been to this "other side", or can sense aspects of it. It'd be one thing if it was just like 100 or so crazies out there that all have inconsistent stories, but that's not quite the case. But I'll get to that eventually.
